DIY End Table

If you don’t want to spend a fortune on an end table, then this is for you. We had an old stool that we never use so we thought it be perfect to make it into an end table. We went to our local Homegoods to find a cute basket that would go with our theme. And got the rest of the supplies at Lowes. It took my husband about a day to make it!

Supplies:

A basket
Stool
Paint of choice
Wood circle
Gorilla wood glue
Clear finishing acrylic wood gloss or wood stain

Step 1:

We didn’t like the color of the stool so we used some old leftover white paint to paint it the color we needed. Don’t forget to sand and prime before painting! He painted 2 coats.

Step 2:

We didn’t like the height of the stool so he shortened/cut the legs using a circular saw. Also made sure at this step that it was perfectly level.

Step 3:

Most baskets have handles on them, so we cut the handles off.

Step 4:

Getting your top ready! Lowes make pre-cut pine table toppers. We wanted a more natural wood top so we used clear gloss acrylic to seal in the wood (we don’t want cup condensation seeping in) as well as giving it a shiny look. He applied two coats and sanded between.

Step 5:

Once everything is dry, apply wood glue on the upper part of the stool and then flip the basket upside down and apply pressure. Once glue is dry you can apply the wood topper on top of the basket by doing the same thing. Apply wood glue on the edges and center of the basket and place wood circle on top of basket.

Step 6:

We let it sit over night and then brought it up to our cozy corner!

What an easy cute way to make an end table and all of it was under $25! What a great way to save a little when buying all kinds of nursery furniture.
